Southbound on Highway 434 in Mora County, New Mexico the morning after a light snow. The Sangre de Cristo Mountains are in the background. |
It is now dropping to a low of 19 degrees at night and only warms up to 40 degrees during the day. And I live where, you ask? In Mora County New Mexico, contrary to what most people think, New Mexico is not dry and sandy. I live at an elevation of 7,000 ft and the wind sweeps off the snow capped mountains and chills straight to the bone. There are some great ski resorts located in Angel Fire, Taos, and Red River NM , and learning to snowboard before kids enter into the picture is my goal. It is suppose to lightly snow tonight and it should look something like the above picture taken last year .......... can't wait but also feel partially frozen right now.
