We missed it!!! Did you know that the legal separation from the American Colonies occurred July 2ND 1776. John Adams wrote this in a letter to his wife, "The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.". Maybe we are late to celebrate or John Adams was early I'm not quite sure but I am sure that I will be one of the few that will be celebrating in devotion to God Almighty. Sadly so many do not realize that we have our freedom because God is allowing us that gift. We need to be thankful to our Lord for all we have on this momentous day. Tomorrow my family and those I love will spend our time at church hearing God's word and singing praises to Him and of course eating!! I could not think of a better way to enjoy the freedoms my Savior has granted me. Here is a picture of the cake my talented brother and sister , Mike and Rose created. They were sure to make it correct including perfectly numbered stripes and stars!! I Love it and can't wait to eat it!!
